We want our users to be able to optimally use our HPC systems. Therefore, the MPCDF provides training and educational events for the MPG and its partners. From the basic introduction of how to use our systems to focused advanced workshops and lectures, we give our users the means to master their work on our systems.

With the new VIPER-GPU supercomputer of the MPG which employs a large number of AMD MI300A GPUs, the MPCDF in collaboration with AMD and Eviden offers an online course on this new architecture in combination with a hackathon where existing GPU codes can be ported to the MI300A together with the experts from the MPCDF, AMD and Eviden. This is a follow-up workshop to the one given end of 2024. This time we will entirely work on VIPER-GPU, employing the software stack there and run the codes on the hackathon's reservation on VIPER-GPU. [more]
